Summer Camp

Our horse camps at Dream Horse Stables are designed to be fun, informative and interactive. Our most important goal is to introduce our campers to horses in a safe and friendly environment.  All of our campers learn how to care for the horse, not just ride.  They learn about the different breeds of horses, how they’re put together and their usefulness.

For the beginners, we provide a good foundation of general horse knowledge that can be built upon later, if they so choose.  The campers learn how to properly groom, saddle and bridle the horse and how to mount and dismount safely. The riders learn to use their whole body to communicate with the horse while riding. They will learn how to trot under control and learn some fun horsey games both on and off the horse.  Their week finishes off with a “show off your skills” event. Friends and family welcome!

For the intermediate riders, we build upon prior knowledge (similar to what they would have learned in the beginner camp). The campers learn advanced grooming tips like braiding, clipping, and bathing. At the start of camp, we will have a demonstration of different disciplines so the campers can choose what style riding they would like to focus on for camp. Our riding lessons will focus on posting, diagonals, cantering and over all collection.  Their week finishes off with a “show off your skills” event. Friends and family welcome!

We do offer a three day intermediate/advanced course focusing on more skills than over all knowledge for a time strapped camper!  This camp is specifically designed for the camper that has substantial riding experience and is looking to further their horsemanship skills.

The dates for the beginner camps are July 12-15 and August 2-5.
The dates for the intermediate camp are August 9-12.
The dates for the intermediate/advanced mini camp are June 14-16.
